This powerful factor of life is relevant only to we humans as a form of measure. When we look through the lens of God, we realise that time as we know it, accounts for nothing.
Our restlessness, worries, fears, anxieties and worries would be exchanged for peace, assurance, joy and confidence if we truly understand and meditate on what this thing called time is. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 is outstanding in laying it out to us. As long as we are under the sun, EVERYTHING has an appointed time.
When we study the lives of some of our Biblical models, we are again able to appreciate a full picture of this thing called time. Consider Abraham, Joseph, David, Daniel, Mary, Paul…
Go to history. Look at some of our heroes. Did time not lead them into the things they are now remembered for?
‘You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed’.
(Psalm 139:16)
We are all living in God’s History Book. God recognises only two times: The Beginning and End. Whatever processes, joys, lows, storms, seasons, are already defined events.
Nothing takes God by surprise. God needs no plan B in case A fails. He sorted that out before we were born. We are the ones who experience an unfolding of things already set and hopefully will see the beauty in all circumstances as ugly as they may seem.
Is there something you are still trusting God for? Would these words in Habakkuk 2:3 not be fresh dew to your soul? “For the vision awaits an appointed time; it testifies of the end and does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it, since it will SURELY come and will not delay.”
What time are you currently experiencing? Is it good? Is it bad? When you look back on already revealed times of your life can you not say, ‘this too SHALL pass’?
Even for the good and happy times, unfortunately, those too shall pass. Why?

Whatever you face, remember the gift of seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, months, years… Also remember, as each ticks, we are one moment closer to that time that matters to God: The End.
