CHRISTIAN LIVING

OF ALL THE THINGS GOD COULD BE …

by

He answers to no one.

He doesn’t have any judgment coming up which He will face to give an account of His.

He created all things and for His pleasure.

He is the Highest of the highest.

Stronger than the strongest.

He is God.

He could have been anything. He could have had 7 virgins satisfying Him daily. He could have partied everyday, gotten drunk at any time, lived the wildest life with no answers to anyone yet, of all the things God could be, God chose holiness.

He chose to be holy. Not just holy but holy, holy, holy, to the third highest degree.

He chooses to be pure through and through. He chooses to love righteousness and justice. He chooses to hate pride and honour humility. He chooses to be light without any darkness in Him.

He chooses to deny Himself all the pleasures and escapades that rightly belong to Him in a world which He owns and clothe Himself with absolute purity.

Your ways are past finding out, oh Lord.

A holiness that necessitates that He hates every kind of evil and is intolerant of sin.

His holiness that defines every other aspect of His attributes: His love, a holy love. His wrath, a holy wrath, His truth, a holy truth…

Then we consider man who should tremble before His holiness and choose His path yet our natural inclination is completely evil.

Oh how could our wretched hearts ever stand before You who commands us, “be holy even as I am holy”; how could we ever achieve this?

“…through Jesus Christ, our Lord…”

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable Gift.”
