If we will pray any prayer today, let it be this.
Living in this world and the constant charm of its warm fires, we can easily forsake the God we love and the Truth we hold so dearly.
Peter denied Christ but God in His mercy had given him an advanced signal that was his personal alarm to know when he erred.
This alarm was the crow of a chicken.
When God does answer this prayer of ours and your rooster crows, what is your response?
Peter heard the rooster and immediately he went out and wept bitterly.
Peter didn’t wait and say, “Okay, I will definitely repent for this sin when I get home but I mustn’t miss any part of this drama going on with Jesus.”
The mercy of God enabled Peter to forget about watching this historical moment of The Passion of his dear Lord and Saviour. We never hear of Peter again in the crucifixion account of Scripture.
Some of us would rather wait until a convenient time to repent and forsake our sins and before we know, God says, “You fool! This very night your soul is required of you…” (Luke 12:20).
You don’t believe in God or you postpone His promptings yet you have enough faith to draw up vision boards, plan your next birthday or even say, “see you tomorrow?”.That is real faith.
Don’t imagine there is some future time for you to get around to getting right with your Creator “behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
