Studying Matthew 24:2-13 & 2 Timothy 3: 1-9, one thing is clearer more than ever: we ARE in the end times of this world. Forget whatever new inventions are being made or whatever is thriving.
Jesus never said things will slow down when He is coming back. He said all will be normal, we will be going about our daily tasks when He returns like a thief in the night.
Whether or not we are in the end times is not an issue of contention. We are. This is assuming that we know and believe that Jesus is coming back to this present world and if we don’t, well…
If all the signs of being in the end times is being manifest today, why is Jesus yet to come?
Jesus is yet to come because WE are delaying Him. There is a task yet unfinished which is in our hands as Christians. It is in the hand of me and you who identify and parade ourselves as Christians and this is the task:
“The Gospel about the Kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, so that ALL nations will hear it; and then the end will come.”
Matthew 24:14
This task is the proclamation of the Gospel of Christ!
Jesus is NOT coming back until we do our duty and play our part in ‘The Great Commission’ as we fondly call it. The Great Commission is not for pastors and preachers. It IS for EVERYONE who calls on the Name of Jesus as Lord and Saviour.
How will those in North Korea and in many Untouched nations of the world hear this Gospel of life and freedom? Are we sharing with those around us?
Do we not feel this burden to?
We are saved because some people were faithful to the mission that was laid in their hands. Jesus never preached to nor appeared to any of us so we owe our salvation to the faithfulness of these followers of Jesus.
Will we receive such a precious gift and not share?
Christian, the burden upon us is to share the Gospel. Many are dying daily, many are walking deads pining in darkness. We who are in the light are without excuse.
God is not keeping us alive because He has some great plan for us to become something on this earth. We are alive for the Gospel. To share the Gospel.
“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”
2 Peter 3:9
We are desperately failing, fellow Christian.
Lord have mercy upon us. Lord have mercy upon this writer and may the change begin with me this day.
